Required: Autumn Term 2025

We are looking to recruit for the start of the Autumn Term 2025, a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher of PE. We are interested in recruiting a teacher who has the ability to teach high quality lessons in the full range of age and ability at our 11 – 16 years. This post is suitable for either experienced PE teachers or ECTs.

It is an occupational requirement that the post holder be male in order to teach boys PE lessons. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.The successful candidate should be able to teach across the full range of core PE activities and will have experience of teaching Cambridge National Sports Studies and GCSE PE. In addition, all members of the department team contribute significantly to our extra-curricular programme and the ideal candidate will be keen to do the same.

Our PE department is a vibrant and successful part of the school, with students consistently achieving strong results at Key Stage 3 and a solid first set of outcomes at Key Stage 4, which we are committed to further improving.

An enthusiasm for your subject is essential together with the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve highly and enjoy PE. Our vision statement clearly describes our ‘Journey to Excellence’ and we are aiming to move from ‘good to outstanding’ in all aspects of our work at the school, particularly in quality first inclusive teaching.

We are also interested in helping our students to develop healthy lifestyles and to enjoy taking part in a range of activities so that lifelong positive habits are promoted. Our Inter House competitions are a good example of the way that our PE Department contributes to the whole school vision. Please take time to read the information on our website about the curriculum and extra-curricular activities that we offer.

We have a very strong commitment to the professional development of all our staff and everyone is involved in continuously developing their own practice through our coach for QFIT, appraisal and professional pathways.

We are proud to be part of the thriving North West Leicestershire School Sports Partnership, which provides a strong network of development and sports for all children aged 4 -19 in our area. The Partnership links the 6 secondary schools in Coalville, Ibstock and Ashby and all the feeder primary schools. There is plenty of scope to contribute to the work of these networks and have a real impact on the lives of a large group of young people. We have close links with the MAT PE departments, with joint planning of a curriculum linking to GCSE, and success at KS3 and KS4 is important to all schools.

We are looking for a creative and inspiring teacher who:

· Is a lifelong learner

· Works collaboratively

· Has a commitment to raising student achievement

· Is committed to developing his/her own teaching and learning

· Enjoys working with young people and cares about them as individuals

· Has energy and enthusiasm!

If you are a teacher with the drive and energy to make a real difference for our students, and if this role sound like the ideal next step in your career, I hope you will feel encouraged to apply. Please contact the school if you require any further information about the school or the role.

Closing date for applications is 12.00pm, 30th April 2025.
